Announcing the Updated Lubrizol Ready Reference

Updated Ready Reference Manuals are now available. The manuals were recently updated in November 2012.

Lubrizol Ready Reference Manuals present a broad overview of the Lubricants and Fuels, Grease and Hydraulic and Industrial Fluids Industries - their products, selection and application. The manuals provide a path to follow for more specific, in-depth information. The new manuals describe the basics of Lubricants and Fuels, Grease and Hydraulic and Industrial Fluids formulations and their uses. You will find reference to the major worldwide standards and specifications governing manufacture, testing and use of these products.

The three Ready Reference Manuals available are:

2. Grease
3. Hydraulic and Industrial Fluids

The Online Edition includes all three Ready Reference books in one place: Lubricants and Fuels, Hydraulic and Industrial Fluids, and Greases. Lubrizol K2M Wins Silver

Lubrizol Knowledge 2 Market (K2M), a leader in innovative online lubrication training, won a coveted Brandon Hall Silver award in excellence in the "Best Use of Video for Learning" category. K2M's win was announced on Tuesday, September 18. View the entire list of winners here.

K2M won silver for its entry titled "Lubrication Fundamentals - A Three-Course Series." The fundamentals course is comprised of three course modules. The courses are meant to be taken collectively, but each course module can also stand on its own as an independent learning component. The Lubrication Fundamentals Courses were developed from a Lubrizol sales DVD that K2M created. The DVD consists of three foundational lubrication topics - Friction and Lubrication, How Lubricants Work and Lubricant Standards and Selection - which form the basis for the three course modules. Lubrizol's K2M Receives CEU Provider Certification

On April 1, 2012, Knowledge 2 Market (K2M) received certification as an authorized provider of Continuing Education Units (CEU) from the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).

K2M is Lubrizol's online lubrication school that provides programs on the science and art of selling lubricants by combining sales and basic technical skills in real life selling scenarios. Receiving the certification allows Lubrizol to offer continuing education units to our customers.

The certification benefits our customers and our employees because:

• Recognition is provided to individuals for their efforts to update or broaden their knowledge, skills or attitudes professionally and personally
• Certain professional society memberships can be maintained by documenting continuing educational requirements and qualifications
• Records of CEUs awarded provide a framework within which individuals can develop and achieve long-range educational goals through a variety of available options
• Progress toward goals, at the individual's own pace and possibly planned over a number of years, can be demonstrated and documented by an official record of CEUs awarded

IACET has certified Lubrizol K2M to offer IACET approved CEUs for all current training programs as well as any programs created for the next five years. We have completed an extensive application, have been reviewed by an IACET site visitor and successfully demonstrated adherence to all IACET criteria and guidelines. The certification period is from April 1, 2012 through March 31, 2017.

K2M CLS Education Programs Approved by STLE™

K2M is internationally recognized as a credible e-learning source for teaching the art and science of selling lubricants. On June 22, 2012, K2M was recertified by STLE as an Approved Education Program.

This recertification recognizes K2M as a training program that benefits STLE and its members. This 7 program series familiarizes you with the 16 topic areas covered on the STLE Certified Lubrication Specialist (CLS®) exam.

K2M Wins the 2012 International E-Learning Award

On June 15, 2012, at the ICELW Conference in New York, Lubrizol Knowledge 2 Market (K2M) was selected as the winner in the blended learning category of the 2012 International E-Learning Awards - Business Division, given by the International E-Learning Association (IELA). K2M featured its Facilitated CLS™ Development Series, an online facilitated learning experience that uses a combination of online learning scenarios, readings and online discussion forums to help supplement and reinforce lubricant knowledge. This seven program series familiarizes the learner with the sixteen topic areas covered on The Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE™) Certified Lubrication Specialist (CLS™) exam.

Lubrication training in Spanish begins this fall

Read the Press Release. Now Spanish-speaking professionals can use the Internet to quickly and conveniently tap Lubrizol's vast lubrication chemistry and field test experience to learn how to promote, sell and troubleshoot lubricants. Read on to learn how Lubrizol K2M makes selling lubricants easy.

I have never taken an online course. What should I expect?
Lubrizol K2M instructors realize that it is ineffective to simply transfer traditional slide show presentations to a Web site. Lubrizol K2M online courses introduce you to virtual customers who ask relevant questions; your “job” is to answer the “customer's” questions correctly in order to advance the “sale". K2M courses give you the practical lubrication knowledge and skills you need to successfully close more sales and solve more customers' problems.

Which online lubrication programs are offered in Spanish?
The following programs will be offered multiple times each year, starting in October 2007. Additional programs will be added in 2008, based on customer demand.

• Lubrication Fundamentals Series: Chemistry
  You don't need to be a chemist or engineer to learn the basics of lubricant additives, base oils, viscosity and grease. A Lubrizol expert will assist you using online simulations, discussions and support. The chemistry program is a good way to refresh your memory or advance your lubrication knowledge.
• Transportation Specialist Series: Commercial
  You will learn to discuss and diagnose commercial transportation lubrication issues with fleet managers, including API and Euro specifications, drain intervals, oil analysis, on and off road applications and transmissions.
• CLS™/Lube Expert Series: Lubrication Fundamentals
  You will build a credible understanding of the basics of lubrication, including the basics of lubricant additives, base oils, viscosity, and grease, the application of grease, and lubrication manufacturing as it applies to industrial manufacturing.
• Subscription to 13 Self-Paced Courses: Access to 13 self-paced courses and 1500 pages of lubrication reference material for 1 year. The courses—available anytime they are needed—put participants directly into real-life selling situations. Participants learn how to progress the sale and close the customer.

Learning Online Lubrication is More…

More friendly. More simple. More convenient. Based on student feedback, we built a new state-of-the-art online learning environment. It is friendlier, easier and faster to use. The new learning environment significantly reduces the number of clicks needed access to information.

The online programs you enroll in are now listed on your home page and laid out in a simple one page format. These changes save you time and effort. They also free K2M's team to provide you more service. Sonya Coleman, K2M Product Specialist has seen the number of “how do I use the online lube school” questions dramatically decrease since the launch of the new system. Getting you enrolled in programs has also gotten easier. Sonya says, “The new environment allows me to focus more on helping the customers learn.”

Jerry Brys, a K2M student commented, “I like how the new learning environment forces me to go through the resource library by introducing it in the first assignment. It is definitely more intuitive and better organized than the older system.” Jerry also liked the new online discussion feature, “Now I can create my own lubrication discussion topics in the online classroom. I can discuss a broader range of topics with classmates who face the same challenges as I do."
